More… The City of High Point Youth Advisory Council (YAC) provides area high schoolers with the opportunity to participate in local government and advise the High Point Human Relations Commission and City Council on the creation of new policies and programs. As peer ambassadors, all YAC members will develop their leadership and community-building skills while learning more about the City of High Point through field trips and activities. Every high schooler (ages 14-18) interested in civic engagement are encouraged to apply, regardless of ability, gender identity, race, color, national origin, religion, or financial status. YAC members earn a minimum of 30 service hours and may make additional hours through optional attendance at community activities. There is no cost to participate in the YAC.
