[ARCHIVED] We're Expanding Our Drive-Through Hours—and We'll Now “Browse” for You!

The Library will soon offer even more hours for you to check items out at our drive-through! Starting Tuesday, May 26, at 9 am, our drive-through check-outs will be available Monday - Friday from 9 am to 5:55 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 12:55 pm. (You can still return items at the book drops 24 hours a day.)

But that's not all. Because more staff are now in the building (even though the building is still closed), we are also offering to "browse" the shelves for you. So, if you know the kinds of things you like (e.g. mystery novels, action movies, or vegetarian cookbooks) but don't know exactly what you want, you can now ask us to pick a variety of items out for you and place them on hold. This service is only available by phone, so call us at 336.883.3660 to get started.

If you do know exactly what you want, you can still also place holds ahead of time using our online catalog (http://hppl.tlcdelivers.com:8080/). Either way, your item will only be available for pick-up when you receive a notification from our system that it’s arrived downstairs for you. (Please do return your materials as soon as you are able, but do it in whatever way is best for your safety.)

We hope this change makes it even easier to for you to use the library during this transitional time. Our most important concern is always the safety of our customers and staff, and for that reason, we'll continue to waive all overdue fines during this transitional plan, and we won't penalize you in any way for not returning materials right now. Do whatever is best for your safety.

Thank you for being such a supportive community, and we hope you've enjoyed our many digital offerings over the past few weeks, from ebooks and e-audiobooks to urban hikes, virtual garden tours, and children's programming. We appreciate you so much!
