HIGH POINT, NC - On Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at approximately 12:36 PM the School Resource Officer at High Point Central High School (801 Ferndale Blvd) received reports of gunfire in the area of the school. The school was immediately placed on lock-down as a precaution and additional police officers responded to the area to investigate. There were no injuries reported during this incident.
After interviewing witnesses, investigators determined that there was a brief argument between several subjects, some of whom where students, and the occupants of a beige or gold Honda C-RV. The C-RV drove away but returned and an unknown occupant fired shots from the car as it passed. A 2019 Honda Civic that was parked on Ferndale Blvd in front of the school was struck by one projectile. No other damage was located. This investigation is on-going, and no other details are available at this time. Today was the last day of classes before the holiday break.
