HIGH POINT, NC (October 10, 2019) The High Point Historical Society Monthly Guild Series will be Wednesday, October 16 at 10 a.m. at the High Point Museum, located at 1859 E. Lexington Ave. This program is free and open to the public.
The program will focus on one of the Museum's current exhibits - "Celebrating a Century of Commerce" which highlights the 100-year anniversary of the High Point Chamber of Commerce. The speakers for the program will be Sarah Tate, Senior Director of Events & Marketing for Business High Point - Chamber of Commerce, and Marian Inabinett, Curator of Collections for the High Point Museum. Discussion will focus on the both the past and future of Business High Point - Chamber of Commerce.
Tate is a Triad-native, a two-time graduate of High Point University with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Strategic Communications. She has worked at Business High Point - Chamber of Commerce for the past four years. Through her role, she has greatly enjoyed planning for and celebrating the Chamber’s 100th anniversary.
Inabinett earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1987 and her Master of Arts in Public History from North Carolina State University in 1995. She has worked at the Museum since 2012.
"Celebrating a Century of Commerce" explores the lasting impact the chamber of commerce has had on the High Point community. The objects and memorabilia on display highlight the various projects and initiatives of the chamber during its 100 years and the exhibit showcases the current projects and programs of Business High Point - Chamber of Commerce. The exhibit will be open until Saturday, November 16.
