[ARCHIVED] Library Parking Paving on June 12 & June 13

On Tuesday, 6/12/18, & Wednesday, 6/13/18, contractors will lay down the final layer of asphalt in the Library parking lot (weather dependent, as always). The Library & portions of the parking lot will remain open to the public throughout this work, though each section of the parking lot will be closed temporarily while being paved.

On Tuesday, paving will take place in three areas: in front of the building, in the section between our Farmers Market stalls (near N. Main St.) & in the section at the center of the parking lot. The drive-thru & book drop, as well as the two parking lot entrances nearest the building, will be closed for the whole day on Tuesday.  All items can still be returned or checked out inside the Library.  From 10 AM to 4 PM, Library staff will also be outside on N. Elm St. to accept return items, should you wish to avoid entering the parking lot entirely.  Additionally, Library staff in orange & yellow safety vests will be in the parking lot throughout Tuesday to assist customers and ensure that everyone can easily and safely enter and exit the building.

On Wednesday (again depending on the weather), the three newly paved sections will be open, as will the drive-thru & book drop & the parking lot entrances nearest the building.  Paving will continue in the remaining two areas: the section of the parking lot nearest N. Elm St. & the section farthest away from the building.  Since the paving will have less impact on Wednesday, Library staff will remain inside to best serve our customers.

Thank you for your support as we look forward to finishing this paving project!
