Day Trips
Take the family on a day trip to:
  • The nation’s largest walk-through natural habitat zoo, the North Carolina (NC) Zoological Park. The NC Zoo was the first American zoo designed from its inception around the "natural habitat" philosophy and is nationally recognized as one of the nation's finest zoos. The NC Zoo is less than an hour's drive from High Point.
  • A 105-acre theme park, Carowinds, complete with thrill rides, family rides, kid rides and live shows - all within a two-hour drive from High Point.
  • The wild west at Tweetsie Railroad, a family theme park featuring a three-mile, steam-powered train ride through the North Carolina mountains, shopping, live entertainment, amusement rides and petting zoo - all within a two-hour drive from High Point.
  • The largest water park in the Carolinas and one of the top 12 in the United States, Wet ‘n Wild Emerald Pointe in neighboring Greensboro, offers more than 35 rides and attractions.
