The Residuals Management division provides for the elimination and/or disposal of material solids produced by the Water and Wastewater divisions of the City of High Point in a reliable, safe and compliant manner.
All biological solids that are to be disposed of at the City of High Point's Eastside Wastewater Plant and the Westside Wastewater Plant are dewatered using high speed centrifuges. The solids are then incinerated at the Eastside Wastewater Plant site. The ash resulting from this process is dried and then landfilled. The total volume of material to be disposed of is reduced by approximately 95% through the incineration process. The ash is also used as a soil amendment which is created at the City of High Point’s Ingleside Compost Facility.
