The City of High Point wastewater divisions strive to produce the highest quality effluent that meets and exceeds Federal and State Water Quality Standards while reusing the wastewater residuals in an environmentally safe manner. It is our goal to insure the safest and cleanest water available for all downstream users and the environment.
The Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant was upgraded in 2004 from a 16 million gallons per day (mgd) Activated Sludge Treatment Facility to a 26mgd 5 Stage Biological Nutrient Removal Facility. The upgrade included a complete Plant expansion in order to meet new effluent standards for total nitrogen and phosphorus removal. As the flow comes into the Plant, it will go through many treatment processes before exiting as treated effluent to the new Randleman Reservoir.
The goal of the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is to provide for the safety of its employees, maintain regulatory compliance and to protect the natural aquatic environment of the receiving stream.
The Residuals Management division provides for the elimination and/or disposal of material solids produced by the Water and Wastewater divisions of the City of High Point in a reliable, safe and compliant manner.
