Medical & Hazardous Waste

Medical Waste

Needles and syringes should not be placed in the garbage or recycling carts. Customers should place all needles and syringes in a Sharps puncture-proof container, which is available at most pharmacies. Containers other than Sharps will not be collected. When the container is full, call Customer Service at 883-3111 for a free pick-up and the City will safely dispose of these items, while protecting our employees.

Household Hazardous Waste

The City of High Point is committed to providing services that protect our environment in a fiscally responsible manner. A new program has been created to provide for the proper disposal of Household Hazardous Waste. Certain household wastes are not accepted in your roll-out cart, because they can be hazardous to our environment and our collection workers.
