NC GreenPower

The power to choose

Non-Profit Renewable Energy Program

Formed in 2003, NC GreenPower is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to expand public knowledge and acceptance of cleaner energy technologies to all North Carolinians through local, community-based initiatives. NC GreenPower improves our environment by supporting in-state renewable energy, carbon offset projects and providing grants for educational solar installations at N.C. K-12 schools. Your donation will add more renewable energy to North Carolina's power supply while also enhancing our students' education through their Solar+ Schools program.

Donate and Make  Difference

For every $4 donated, 125 kilowatt hours (kWh) of renewable energy is supplied to the electric grid in North Carolina, while also supporting solar projects at schools. You may donate towards as many blocks as you would like, and they will be added to your electric bill; the City of High Point will then forward your contribution to NC GreenPower.

.

About Your Contribution

  • Every $4 contributed to the program generates 125 kWh from North Carolina renewable energy projects and installs solar at N.C. K-12 schools through the Solar+ Schools grant program.
  • Donations are sales-tax-free and tax-deductible.
  • Contributions are billed monthly on your electric bill.
  • Funds are passed in their entirety to NC GreenPower.
  • NC GreenPower uses the funds to add cleaner, renewable energy to the state's power supply and support STEM learning at K-12 schools.
