In 2023, Keep High Point Beautiful under the City of High Point's Public Services Division, became an affiliate of Bee City USA, an initiative of the Xerces Society. We are excited to join the movement in educating others about the importance of supporting native bees and other pollinators in our area. The acting City Council in 2023 voted unanimously to support this initiative with a resolution that includes fostering broad-base community engagement that recognizes our need to help aid in the fight against the declining population of bees and other pollinators.
Bee City High Point has formed an active board comprised currently comprised of five members. To date, we have completed two seed starter events at the High Point Farmers Market as well as participation in their Halloween Market and Holiday Time at the Market events. We have been excited to help educate others about the importance of supporting our pollinators by planting native plants and how you can create bee habits.
