The City of High Point may replace water meters serving your property as part of our routine meter change out program. The water system for a home or other property is connected to the city water main via a water meter. You may see a technician(s) working in or around your water meter box. During a meter replacement, water will be temporarily cut-off to complete the installation.
The property owner is responsible for the maintenance and replacement of any portion of the water system from the meter to their house/building. A diagram showing the division between what is the City's responsibility and what is the responsibility of the property owner can be found below.
If during a meter
change out, we discover an issue with your plumbing that would prevent us from
completing the installation, we will notify you as soon as possible to prevent
an interruption in service.
