Youth Advisory Council

The KHPB Youth Advisory Council is a program designed to provide High School aged community members with practical skill building in leadership, team building, networking and event planning while becoming a more active part of our community through participation on the board of Keep High Point Beautiful and all of our events and programs.

Reasons to join youth council

The application window is open now through Sept. 28, apply HERE!

Participation in the Youth Council will include:

  • A minimum of 5 hours but not exceeding 10 hours of volunteer work a month.
  • Attend Keep High Point Beautiful Board meetings (currently held via Zoom). We meet at 4:00 PM, bimonthly, on the third Mondays in January, March, May, July & September.
  • Attend and help prepare for annual litter cleanup events, educational booths and programs, attend the annual KHPB reporting to City Council at City Hall, assist with Arbor Day event, National Night Out programs and more!
  • Assist with outreach to peer groups in High Point.
  • Assist with Litter Indexing of city roadways.
  • Provide ideas and insight for new and existing programming and events.
  • Students who participate will have the opportunity to apply for the National Keep America Beautiful Youth Council.

We are so proud of the great job that our KHPB Youth Advisory Council Members, Hamza Alkadir, Jasmine Burke and Luke Rodden have done!
Though it has certainly been an unusual year to be on the council, they have done an amazing job being flexible and adapting to necessary changes.
